Clinic Assistant - Full Time (30-40 hours/wk)
Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate Optometric Assistant to join our clinics located in Weatherford. This role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. Saturdays are required.
Schedule: Clinics are typically open Mon-Sat, from 9:15 am - 6 pm. Saturdays are required. Staff works 5 days per week.
We don't offer half-day shifts, as our clinics are busy all day.
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Enter patient and insurance information
- Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment
- Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity)
- Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care
- Assist doctors during exams and maintain accurate EHR records
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
- Assist with patient check-out
Administrative Duties:
- Greet and assist patients at check-in
- Verify benefits as needed
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical Assistant certification (preferred, not required)
- Prior medical/optometry office experience (preferred; training provided)
- Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
