Clinic Assistant- Full Time
Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate Clinic Assistant to join our clinics located in Garland, McKinney, and occasionally Mesquite. This role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. Saturdays are required.
Schedule: 5 days per week with Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays required. Days off are Sunday, plus Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday based on clinic staffing.
Salary based on experience.
Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment
- Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity)
- Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
Administrative Duties:
- Greet and assist patients at check-in
- Schedule appointments
- Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming
- Opportunities for Lead Assistant or Assistant Manager include checking patients in, checking out and benefit verification
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Prior medical/optometry office experience preferred but not required (training provided))
- Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
